Tıbbi bir durumda, genellikle ameliyat veya işlem öncesi verilen özel bir ilaç sayesinde ağrı hissedilmeyen haldir.

Çoğunlukla tıbbi bağlamda kullanılır. 'Lokal anestezi' küçük bir bölge; 'genel anestezi' ise tüm vücutta ve bilinç kaybıyla olur. 'Analjezi' (ağrı kesici) ile karıştırmayın.
