麻酔

Definition

医療で使われる、手術などの際に痛みを感じなくする状態です。多くの場合、特別な薬によって引き起こされます。

主に医療用語です。'局所麻酔'（体の一部だけ）や'全身麻酔'（全身・意識なし）で使われます。'鎮痛（analgesia）'と混同しないよう注意してください。

The dentist gave me anesthesia before fixing my tooth.

歯医者さんは私の歯を治す前に**麻酔**をかけました。

She was under anesthesia during the surgery.
