很久以前生活在你家族的人的统称，通常是你的很多代前辈。

几乎总是用复数 ('ancestors')。专指直接的家族血缘关系，不是泛指过去的老人。在历史或文化中，也可泛指属于一个民族或群体的祖先。不要和 'descendants'（后代）混淆。
