人を笑わせたり、楽しい気分にさせたりすること。または、興味を持たせて退屈させないこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

短時間だけ面白いことや人に使われます。「it amuses me」「he amuses the children」などで使います。「entertain」ほど長続きしません。ややフォーマルな表現です。
