何かが他の出来事や状況の最中、特に変化や混乱のさなかに起こることを表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォーマルや文学的、報道の文脈で使います。『amid chaos』『amid protests』など抽象的名詞とよく使われます。物理的な物の間には使いません。その場合は『among』を使います。
