"Ale" aparece principalmente em inglês britânico e para cervejas tradicionais/artesanais. Não se refere a cerveja comum ('lager'). Combinações comuns: 'pale ale', 'brown ale', 'craft ale'. No português, usa-se 'cerveja tipo ale'.
