主に「get ahold of」という表現で使われ、誰かに連絡を取る意味。まれに何かをしっかりつかむ意味もある。

とてもカジュアルな言い方なので、フォーマルな場面では'reach'を使いましょう。人に連絡する意味が主で、実際に物をつかむ時も使われます。
