Definition

事実や本当のことを認めて言うこと、とくに言いにくい場合に使う。また、誰かを場所に入れる、学校や病院などに入学・入院させるという意味もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'admit'は「事実を認める」と「入場・入学を許可する」の両方で使う。'admit doing', 'admit that...', 'be admitted to/into'の形でよく使われる。「confess」ほど重くない場合もあるので注意。
