Definition

কেউ উপস্থিত থাকার কথা থাকলেও না থাকলে সেটিকে অনুপস্থিতি বলে। কোনো কিছুর অভাব বা না থাকা বোঝাতে ও ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

প্রাত্যহিক ও আনুষ্ঠানিক ভাষায় ব্যবহৃত হয়: 'student absence', 'absence from work', 'in the absence of evidence' ইত্যাদি সাধারণ। মানুষের ক্ষেত্রে এটি অনুপস্থিত থাকার অর্থ, গুণ বা বৈশিষ্ট্যের ক্ষেত্রে অভাব বোঝায়। 'vacation' বা 'leave' এর সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
