Definition

物事やプロセス、ミッションを完了前に止めること。また、妊娠を早期に終了させる意味もある。

「abort」は専門的・技術的な場面（医学、航空、ITなど）でよく使われます。「abort the mission」「着陸を中止する」など。名詞の「abortion」は妊娠中絶のみの意味になるので、動詞と混同しないよう注意。

They had to abort the test due to a technical problem.
