Normalmente en plural, tono poético o emocional. Común en literatura y discursos formales. Se usa para deseos profundos como amor, hogar o una vida mejor; es más intenso que un simple 'quiero' o 'deseo'. No se usa para necesidades cotidianas pequeñas.
