Definition

絞り機は、濡れた衣類から水分を絞り取るための2本のローラーが付いた装置で、特に昔の洗濯機や手動のものに使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に昔の洗濯用具の名称です。現代の家庭ではほとんど見かけません。「put through the wringer」は「苦労やストレスの多い経験をする」という意味のイディオムです。
