Definition

何かを完全に覆ったり、巻き付けたりすること。マフラーや腕など、物が他の物に密着して巻かれる様子も含む。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

スカーフや腕のように、何かの周囲に巻きつける場面で使われます。比喩的に「wrap around one's finger」＝意のままに操るという使い方もあります。「平らに覆う」には使いません。
