森ほど木が密集していないが、木や草が多く生えている土地。多くの動植物の生息地です。

'林地'はたいてい複数の場所を指し、ややまばらな木がある自然エリアに使います。'forest'（森）ほど木が密集していません。'ancient woodlands'（古代林地）などの表現でよく使われます。
