Es el pasado de 'wonder'. Significa pensar en algo porque querías saber la respuesta, o sentir curiosidad o una ligera duda sobre ello.

Suele ir con 'if', 'whether', 'why', 'what', 'who' o 'how': 'I wondered if...', 'She wondered why...'. Es común para expresar curiosidad tranquila, preguntas indirectas y pensamientos personales. No lo confundas con 'wandered', que significa moverse sin una dirección clara.
