화이트아웃은 종이에 잘못 쓴 글씨를 가릴 때 사용하는 액체입니다. 폭설로 인해 시야가 하얗게 되어 앞이 잘 보이지 않는 현상도 의미합니다.

사무실에서는 '수정액'이란 표현이 일반적이며, 기상에서는 폭설로 앞이 잘 안 보이는 상황에서 '화이트아웃'을 사용합니다.
