用于引出两个或更多可能性，尤其是在不确定或需要在选项间选择时使用。

在正式和非正式英语中都很常见，主要用在间接疑问句（如'I don't know whether...'）。有时与'or not'连用，但不是必须的。不要与'weather'（天气）混淆。
