理由や状況を説明するために、いくつかの出来事を列挙する時に使う表現。何かが起きた背景を示すときに使う。

カジュアルな会話や文章の冒頭で、理由や状況を列挙する時に使う。「何が？（what?）」の意味ではないので注意。

What with the rain and traffic, I was late to work.
