誰かに約束したことや合意したことを守らず、特にお金や約束を履行しない場合に使います。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

やや古い表現で失礼に感じられることがあります。「約束を破る」「約束を守らない」などと訳し、「意図的にやらない」場合に使います。うっかりミスでは使いません。
