周囲を見渡すために建てられた高い建物で、警戒や危険を見張る目的で使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に歴史的、軍事的、警備の文脈で使います。現代の展望台には使いません。「刑務所の見張り塔」「国境の見張り塔」などの表現がよくあります。
