كلمة 'watchful' رسمية قليلاً وتصف موقفاً حذراً أو وقائياً. من الشائع قول: 'a watchful eye' و'remain watchful'. أقل شدةً من 'vigilant'، وأكثر نشاطاً من 'careful'.
