はっきりした目的や方向もなく、場所を移動したり、気持ちや考えがあちこちに移ること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

'wandering around', 'a wandering mind', 'wandering eyes' のように使います。落ち着きなく動く時や考えがまとまらない状態に用います。直接的に「歩き回る」より柔らかい印象です。
