Definition

ベストは袖がなく、通常ボタン付きで、シャツの上にジャケットの下に着る服で、フォーマルなスーツの一部です。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォーマルや歴史的なイギリス英語で使われ、アメリカ英語では「vest」。『three-piece suit』などの組み合わせでよく使います。カジュアルなベストやニットベストには使いません。
