খুবই অনানুষ্ঠানিক; 'up the creek without a paddle' আরও খারাপ অবস্থা বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। সাধারণত কথাবার্তায় প্রচলিত, লিখিত ভাষায় নয়। 'in hot water' বা 'in a jam' এর মতো।
