Definition

特別な立場や保護のために、触れたり批判したりできない人や物のこと。インドの歴史では、最下層とされた人々を指す場合もある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「触れられない」は物理的・比喩的の両方で使える。「アンタッチャブル」はカタカナ語で比喩的に権力が強い意味でも使う。インドの歴史的呼称としては注意が必要。
