トライメスターは3か月間の期間で、主に妊娠期間や学年を3つに分けるときに使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

妊娠中は「妊娠初期・中期・後期」で分けます。学校では「第1トライメスター」などといいます。「セメスター」より使う場面が限られます。
