寒さや恐怖、興奮などで体や物が小さく揺れること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

人や動物に多く使うが、物にも使える。'tremble with fear'のように感情と一緒に使う場合が多い。'shiver' は主に寒さ、'tremble'は感情的な時に用いる。
