山や地域で木が育つことができる最も高い地点。その上では寒さなどの理由で木々が生きられない。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に環境や地理、科学分野で使われます。「above the treeline」は木が生えなくなる場所を指します。1本の木ではなく、木が終わる帯状の区域を表します。
