呼吸を助けるために、首の前から気管に穴を開ける医療行為。

医療や救急時に使われる正式な言葉。「気管切開術」とも呼ばれますが、「気管切開孔」（開けた穴）と混同しないよう注意。会話ではあまり使いません。
