Descreve uma situação, tarefa ou período em que é muito difícil avançar ou progredir.

Expressão informal, usada para tarefas difíceis, trajetos complicados ou períodos desafiadores. Comum após 'it's' ou 'was' ('It was tough going'). Não se usa para pessoas. Parecido com 'hard', mas destaca a dificuldade com avanço lento.
