Definition

指在工程、科學或製造過程中，某一物理特性、尺寸或條件所允許的變動範圍或極限。也指事物在不產生問題前可有的變異程度。

主要用於技術、科學、工程等專業領域。常見搭配有「嚴格公差」、「在公差範圍內」、「製造公差」。不用來表示社會或情感上的包容，這時用單數‘tolerance’。

The machine parts must be made within strict tolerances.
