Definition

耕すこととは、畑や庭の土を植え付けのために掘り返してやわらかくすることです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に農業やガーデニングで使われ、'tilling the land'や'tilling the soil'のような表現で用いられます。小さな穴掘りには使いません。

Farmers spend many hours tilling the soil in spring.

農家は春に何時間もかけて土を**耕しています**。
