किसी चीज़ को खींचकर या घुमाकर और अधिक टाइट या मजबूत बना दिया, ताकि वह ढीली न हो।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

'tighten' का भूतकाल है। अक्सर चीज़ों या पकड़ (grip) को मजबूत करने के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है। नियमों पर सख्ती के लिए भी बोला जा सकता है। 'tied' (बांधा) से न मिलाएँ।
