Definition

本やドキュメント、メッセージなどに書かれている文章や言葉。また、携帯電話で送る短いメッセージも指す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

名詞では文章や本分を、動詞では携帯電話でメッセージを送ることを意味します。「send a text（メッセージを送る）」「text message（ショートメッセージ）」のような表現がよく使われます。
