প্রধানত জিনিসপত্র টুকরো করা বা খুব কড়া সমালোচনার ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার হয়; 'tear someone to shreds' মানে খুবই তীব্রভাবে কারো সমালোচনা করা।
