누군가가 하려던 일을 하지 않도록 설득하는 것.

대상(사람)과 동사(-ing 형태) 뒤에 주로 옴('talk him out of quitting'). 비격식적으로 조언이나 아쉬움을 표현할 때 쓴다. 'talk out'와 혼동하지 말 것.

She tried to talk him out of quitting his job.
