Definition

ビジネスやお店などが、特定の期間に販売やサービスなどで得た全てのお金のこと。

主にイギリスやオーストラリアで使われる表現で、アメリカ英語では 'sales' や 'revenue' をよく使います。必ずしも利益ではなく、受け取った全額を指します。'daily takings' のように期間を示す語と一緒に使われます。

The shop's takings were high last weekend.

そのお店の**売上金**は先週末高かった。

They count the takings every night after closing.
