Definition

누군가의 말이나 행동을 보고 어떤 사실을 직접 듣지 않았지만 사실이라고 여기거나 믿는 것.

영국 및 구어체에서 많이 쓰이며, 직접 말하지 않아도 상대방의 의중이나 상황을 추측할 때 사용. 명령문에는 쓰지 않음. 'take it that you...' 형식으로 자주 사용됨.

I take it that you're coming to the party.

너 파티에 올 거라고 **생각해**.

We take it that the meeting is still on.

우리는 회의가 아직 진행된다고 **생각해**.

You didn’t call, so I take it that you’re busy.

전화 안 한 거 보니 바쁘다고 **생각해**.

So, can I take it that you agree with me now?
