Usado principalmente em contextos formais, legais ou oficiais, ao falar de leis, regras, mudanças ou medicamentos. Comum usar 'on' ou 'from' para indicar data: 'The change will take effect on Monday.' Não se usa para efeitos físicos diretos (usar 'have an effect' nesses casos).
