Definition

鳥や飛行機などが獲物を捕まえるために空中から急に素早く下に降りる動き。主に急降下や急に近づく時に使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に鳥や飛行機について使います。「swoops down」「swoops in」などが多いです。ゆっくりした動きには使いません。三人称単数現在形です。

Examples

The bird swoops down to catch a fish.

その鳥は魚を捕まえるために下へ**急降下する**。

An eagle swoops over the lake.

ワシが湖の上を**急降下する**。

The plane swoops low over the city.

飛行機が街の上を低く**急降下する**。
