Definition

何かがねじれて丸く動いたり、そのような模様や形を指します。液体や空気、デザインなどに使われます。

動詞・名詞どちらにも使います。液体('swirl the wine')や風、色の混ざり('a swirl of colors')など。激しく速い動作よりも優雅なイメージです。

She likes to swirl the paint on her canvas.
