観察や調査によって物事の本質や問題を見抜く、理解すること。人の本心や状況を見極める時によく使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

英語圏ではインフォーマルな表現。「人の本心を見抜く」「問題を見抜く」といった使われ方が多い。フォーマルな場面には適さない。
