暫時停止活動或把某物懸掛起來一段時間。可以指暫停某事，也可以指懸掛某物。

常用於正式場合，指暫停權利、服務或活動，也可指懸掛東西。如“suspending a student”（停學）。意思通常是暫時的，並非永久性終止。
