Ficar deitado ou sentado ao sol, geralmente ao ar livre, para bronzear a pele ou relaxar.

Geralmente usado para lazer ou férias. Expressões comuns: 'tomar sol na praia', 'tomar sol na piscina'. Normalmente é intransitivo ('Eu gosto de tomar sol'). Não confunda com 'bronzeado' (cor da pele) ou 'queimar-se' (danificar a pele).
