Definition
強さや激しさがおさまり、静かになること。主に嵐や痛み、感情などが弱くなった時に使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
フォーマルや中立的な場面で使われ、「the pain subsides」「the flood subsides」など天候や痛み、感情の落ち着きを表すときによく使います。増える事象には使いません。
