Definition

話や説明をもっと良く聞こえるようにするため、事実を少しだけ大げさに言うこと。完全な嘘ではないが、誇張されている場合が多い。

主にカジュアルな場面で使い、「完全な嘘」よりも軽いニュアンスで、少しごまかしたり大げさにする時に使います。「He stretched the truth a little.」のような使い方もよく見られます。
