話や事実、真実を実際よりも大げさに言って、もっと重要または印象的に聞かせること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

口語的な表現で、事実や話を誇張する時に使います（'stretch the truth'など）。物理的な「伸ばす」には使いません。
