Stratosfer, yeryüzünün atmosferinde troposferin üzerinde bulunan ve uçakların bazen uçtuğu, ozon tabakasının yer aldığı tabakadır.

"Stratosfer" bilimsel, hava durumu veya havacılık gibi konularda kullanılır. 'in the stratosphere' ifadesi çok yüksek ya da etkileyici anlamında mecaz olabilir. Günlük konuşmada pek rastlanmaz.
