誰かが思いがけず周囲の注目を集めて、他の人が目立たなくなること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

カジュアルな表現で、意図的でなくとも本人が目立ってしまった場合にも使います。'完全に注目を奪う'などの形で強調も可能。実際の「盗む」という意味ではありません。
