Es la forma de tercera persona singular de 'stay'. Significa quedarse en un lugar, no irse, dormir en un sitio temporalmente o seguir en el mismo estado.

Patrones comunes: 'stays at home', 'stays with friends', 'stays in a hotel', 'stays the same'. Para visitas o alojamiento temporal, se usa 'stay', no normalmente 'live'. 'Remain' es más formal que 'stay'.
